Our Ratings

ASR operates a unique platform which is underpinned by a co-insurance model, ensuring we share in each and every risk we underwrite.

We operate multiple balance sheet platforms which allow us to be a leading underwriting firm as well as a risk assumption organisation, in which we share the risk with our partners who we underwrite on behalf of.

Lloyd’s

Launched in 2024, ASR operates Syndicate 2454 at Lloyd’s which allows us to underwrite risks throughout global markets thanks to Lloyd’s licensing arrangements. We have approved Lloyd’s service companies in Morocco, Dubai and Mauritius which allows us to work with local brokers in these markets on a direct basis.

ASR benefits from the credit and financial strength ratings attributed to the Lloyd’s market which include AA- from S&P, AA- from Fitch, AA- from Kroll and A from AM Best.

Baobab Consortium

Our flagship consortium in the Lloyd’s market is Baobab, which provides partner Syndicates with access to African risks. Launched in January 2025, Baobab offers up to $25 million in capacity per risk across most of ASR’s underwriting lines. Consortium partners include leading syndicates Munich Re and Brit.

Bermuda

Since 2024, ASR has operated a fully capitalised Bermuda insurance company which allows us to write a range of risks in the island’s global wholesale market. Our Bermuda entity has been awarded the credit ratings of Baa1 from Moody’s and BBB+ from Fitch with a positive outlook.

Mauritius

The Mauritian market is a key hub for ASR to operate into Africa. Our platform in the country is a key focus for our Captives offering, which are structured and advised on by staff from our Mauritian entity.
